Tax settlement and tax return
In Norway we have a tax settlement the year after the income year. From 2010 there are 4 tax settlement; one in June, one in August, one in September and one in October. To receive your tax return as soon as possible it is important that we have your bank account number or address, especially if you have returned to your home country.
We will automatically receive your adress if you are officially registered on an address in Norway. We receive updates on new bank account numbers from the Norwegian banks January 1st every year. This means that we receive your new bank account number January 1st the year after you created the bank account. If you have created a new bank account the year you receive your tax return you have to let us know this to receive your tax return in the new bank account.
This have to be done in a certain way. We need your bank account number, BIC or SWIFT number, address and a valid ID (passport, drivers licence or bankcard with both a photo and a signature). You copy the ID and write the other information on the same sheet, see example below.
